The Bean Cemetery was relocated to Baxter CR 241 in Gamaliel in the 1940's

The Bean Cemetery, also called "New" Bean Cemetery and Gamaliel Cemetery, is located on Baxter CR 241 about 1/4 mile to the West of State Highway 101 in Gamaliel. This cemetery was developed when the original Bean Cemetery was relocated by the United States Army Corp of Engineers before the Lake Norfork Reservoir filled after completion of the Norfork Dam in the 1940's. About 55 or 60 of the relocated graves are not marked. They may not have had head stones when the graves were relocated.
