Coots Cemetery can be found in a pasture on Baxter CR 131

The Coots Cemetery is located on Baxter CR 131 near the Baxter/Stone County line. Take Baxter CR 73 (Culp Road) East from Push Mountain Road to the intersection of Baxter CR 131, about 7 or 8 miles. Both roadways are marked with County Road signs. Turn South on Baxter CR 131 and travel approximately 8/10th mile. Coots Cemetery will be in the pasture to the left (East), about 150 yards from the roadway. It is in a small clump of trees in an open grazing pasture, on private property. The clump of trees is visible from the roadway, but the gravestones may not be. The small cemetery is unfenced and open to cattle. All of the stones are turned over or broken. There are 4 known burials here, by name, and probably a couple more marked only with field stones.

There was some discussion with members of the Branscum family, who own the land, about putting up fencing to keep the cattle out, but nothing has come of it so far.
